The travel sector will also use UV-C light to make aircraft “corona-proof”. The interior of appliances will be sterilized by using a portable UV-C lamp.

The use of UV-C light is not new. The ultraviolet light has already been used in hospitals to disinfect surgical tools. The UV-C light is now used by Boeing, which has developed a special rod for this purpose. This technology would be available to airlines by the end of the fall.
